Rotimi Fani-Kayode was born in Nigeria in 1955. Since the age of eleven he has lived abroad, both in the USA and in Britain, but has maintained close links with Nigeria and with Yoruba civilization. This first book of his works represents some of his obsessions - the location of desire and of forbidden dreams within the matrix of differing cultures. His photographs express the belief that magic, masquerade and erotic delirium are essential elements in challenging the impoverishment of the soul. (Original publisher's text.)
